He Took a Polaroid Every Day, Until the Day He Died

Yesterday I came across a slightly mysterious website — a collection of Polaroids, one per day, from March 31, 1979 through October 25, 1997. There’s no author listed, no contact info, and no other indication as to where these came from. So, naturally, I started looking through the photos. I was stunned by what I found.

Interesting web site when you click the link that takes you to the site which has all 18 years of the picture of the day.

Interesting thought on a way to document a life through the years for relatives to reflect on after you're gone, even though that was not the intention of the photographer. It's something to consider and something I wish I had thought of long ago.

Wow, fascinating. Mesmerizing. I love the post following from the person who thinks if he looks long enough he'll find a "degree of separation" with common acquaintances between him and the photo-blogger.

The whole thing just goes to show you that it's impossible to know at the start of something how important it may actually turn out to be.

What an interesting and poignant story. Some of the things people do- not for reward, but just because it's what they 'do' amaze me. The memory of this gentleman will be with me for a long time.

Rather interesting. He didn't end up living long enough to have to worry about finding the Polaroid film. They quit making it a few years ago and it is getting harder and harder to find and getting more and more expensive to buy.

Thanks for sharing! Very interesting. I have many, many days that I'll never be able to remember at all.
