Hawiian Air - HawaiiMiles Change

Hawaiian Air has changes their frequent flyer program. How does this compare with their old award schedule?

Actually you could reserve online for as little as 30,000 miles, so the new amount of 40,000 miles (or 20,000 miles each way) is a 33% increase. However, it remains to be seen what the miles requirement is online.

I recently booked on Hawaiian a trip from SJC --> OGG for 1 week) --> LIH (1 week) --> SJC for 35K miles.

I blelieve I'm locked in for this trip (I hope)...

You should be fine. It's only for those trips booked after a certain date (9/1/08?).

Yes,, I believe the Hawaiian Airlines email stated it would go up Sept 1, 2008.

Interisland flights also went up.

Previously, you could get a one-way interisland for 5,000 points (and I always found pretty decent availability if I booked well in advance). Now it's at least 7,500.

I just booked my son and dil r/t interisland for 20K for May 2009. Thats what they gave me when I joined. Im going Oct 2009, guess I better get busy charging on that card.

Hawaii is now a minimum of 40,000 miles for coach, too. Used to 35,000.
