Having Trouble Re-Posting to Craig's List-Advice Please??

I placed an ad for my husband's 2006 Honda Pilot on the Central NJ Craig's List. I wanted to post it again but got a message that it was the same as the last ad I posted-- and that it was not allowed. I tried changing some elements (most were crucial to the ad) but that didn't help.

I know that people only search the newest listings, and I wanted to re-post to bring my ad to the forefront again. But how am I to do that if I am not allowed to re-Post?

In my perusal of Craig's list I have often seen people post the same item, day after day, but when I tried it I couldn't do it.

How is this re-posting done? What do I have to do to make my ad able to be re-posted?? Thanks a lot. Marylyn

I'm not sure if there are other ways but I did mine this way:

1. I copied the whole ad and pasted it to MS Word
2. Entirely DELETED my current ad.
3. Went back onto CL and posted a brand new ad (using cut & paste from the MS file so that I didn't have to type again).

This went through fine - I got the e-mail to publish again like with my original ad and a few minutes later, there it was, with the new date.

I get that message as well when I want to re-post. I think it's a way for Craigs to keep spamming down.

One thing I have noticed but not tried, is putting a bunch of nonsensical gibberish at the very bottom of the post. I see people use quotes from encyclopedias etc. I guess what it does is that it changes the ad enough for it to get by the spam filters.

Let us know how you get around it.

This is the only way I have found to do it but i't a real pain if you have several pictures as you have to manually re-enter those too. Hope someone has a better way!

You cannot repost within 48 hours. After that time, just delete your add and go back to your personal page, (if not promted to repost), and click on the cancelled ad to repost. Works for me ~ Ron
