Has Vistana changed the way they deposit in Interval? Seems like they always split up lockoffs now

There may be several factors at play. The Marriott owners that had to deposit points into II can’t retrade into a Marriott. By breaking up Vistana units, that provides twice as many available trades into Interval. Between COVID ACs, lots of banked deposits and those of us with E-plus that have had several trades already since resorts/countries/Hawaii were closed, demand exceeds supply if they keep the Vistana 2 br units intact.
We start handing out 2 smaller bars of candy at Halloween, but if there are way more kids showing up, we start handing out just one.

Hawaii: As I stated earlier it does not apply to the Vistana resorts in Hawaii.

I've only seen Vistana 2-bed units in Hawaii at Nanea (since they have very few 1-beds, and the 2-beds are non-LO, this makes sense). In previous years I frequently saw them at WKORV, WKORV-N, and WPORV.

True. We used to get those 2 bedrooms at North and South towers. Now we don't need the two bedrooms for us.

Yeah, that’s what was possible until the last few years for us, too. The only question is really why Vistana weeks are not available as 2-beds while they are for Marriott.

I think that Marriott has a lot more 2 bedroom units than Vistana. After the merger, I spent some time looking at Marriott options and I remember that quite a few of their resorts did not have one bedroom units, which is what I generally want. While Vistana does have true two bedroom units, most are lockoffs.

I ended up realizing I could trade a 1 bedroom plus $99 for a 2 bedroom Marriott, or a studio plus $199. Either is a much better deal than trading my whole lockoff for a two bedroom Marriott.

Yet another reason to trade via staroptions when ever possible.

Does a 1-bed Marriott routinely see 2-bed units at Marriott?

I don't, and we own a Marriott 2bdrm on Kauai. For any Marriott TS whether it is branded Marriott or Westin or whatever, If I see them at all it is usually within 10 days of checkin date. It might be different trading via the Marriott program, I am speaking of II, specifically. Except right now, during lockdowns here, I am seeing some at the resorts in HI that do not have full kitchens, like KBC or MOC old side; other than that, Ko Olina (I think only because there are so many restrictions in place here on Oahu right now that it makes the whole island less desireable, especially isolated resorts like that one.)
