Once you have contacted Profeco regarding rescinding your purchase of a Vidanta resort how long did it take them to get back to you. I emailed extranjeros@profeco.gob.mx on December 18 and then I emailed turista@profeco.gob.mx yesterday, Jan 6. I tried calling all the phone numbers with no luck. I disputed my credit card down payment and have not responded to the loan payment request yet. I realize time is running out and don't know what to do.

I tried cancelling while I was at the resort and they kept putting me off until it was too late.make an appointment.

Trying to ever cancel at the Resort is actually the wrong way to rescind for just such a reason. I hope that Profeco will provide you some relief but don't be surprised if they don't support your position.

For others reading this; Use the Mexican Postal System (if you are in Mexico) and send your rescission paperwork via REGISTERED MAIL within FIVE days of the purchase (and be sure to send a copy to Profeco). If you make it back to the US to mail it here then you can use the US Postal Service (USPS) but do be sure that it sent via REGISTERED MAIL, and mail a copy to Profeco (again, be sure that everything is done within the five day time limit).

Best of luck!

When we cancelled our Grand Mayan purchase we were still in Cabo. I sought the advice of a person that worked a different Mexican Timeshare. I had to promise never to reveal who or at what Timeshare they worked. I typed it up. Made 4 copies. We signed all 4 copies in front of a Mexican Notary. I delivered it in person to the proper office at the Grand Mayan. I went by myself and took no Credit Cards. No problems with them but it took us years to convince a bunch of different organizations that we were not Mayan Members.

Sounds like that person could be bumped off if you had revealed....
