Before we can respond, we need to know what the offer is:

Is he offering to sell or rent your timeshare?

Is their any kind of up-front fee (no matter what they call it.)

I didn't have any problems with that purchase or the transfer of ownership. As has been mentioned, don't pay an upfront fee if you're selling or renting your timeshare though.
