Has anyone seen how the beach is at Gran Melia?

Has anyone walked on the beach to see how the beach is in Cancun in front of the Melia? I've talked to customer service and they told me they weren't opening until July 1? Does anyone have any information regarding the Gran Melia? They used to have such a beautiful beach. Is it gone?

Melia Beach

The beach has been coming and going, and is currently (Feb 9) about 20 feet from the wall with quite alot of rock exposed. Good news is beach reconstruction is underway. Second pipeline was installed today and work is proceeding from south of Hilton northward. I would assume from the progress I have seen since the 28th of January the beach will have been restored well before the Grand Melia is scheduled to reopen.
