If this has been broached before, forgive me, but I couldn't find a thread that dealt with this question when I was browsing through the forums.
I entered two deeds with BlueGreen within the last 6 months, the second one was during what we thought was an update on the first one. We were convinced to add because our first one was so small an amount that it would be hard to use or get out of. I have approached Stonegate about exiting but am skeptical about their methods. The preliminary talk, to determine whether we qualified, seemed to be more of the approach used by BlueGreen to push their timeshares. We were pushed to make a quick decision, played basketball with their advisors (passed from one to another), was presented a 'better deal' when we balked, etc. These are red flags to me. I still have loan amounts to pay off and believe that this limits my choices on how to get out of them. I already approached BlueGreen about deed back and got the expected answer. I worry about defaulting on the payments and am now reconsidering the attempt to use an exit company no matter how well rated they are. What do you see as the best choice to get out of this situation? Try to sell while I still have a balance? or default the loans?
