Has anyone had any luck trading into Marriott Pulse Mayflower (Washington, D.C.)?

Nope. The silver line takes the same route as the orange line at East Falls Church station and then with the blue line at Rosslyn. So you would need to go from Dulles to Metro Center and then switch trains to the red line and then back to the Mayflower at Farragut North. Or you could get off at Farragut West and walk a few blocks to the Mayflower. Union Station is only serviced by the Red Line so there is no connection to Dulles directly.
We walked from Farragut West to the Mayflower when we arrived, and back again when we left, with all of our luggage. It really isn't far, maybe three blocks? We are very seasoned travelers and I think it's one of the least onerous public transit/walk to hotel experiences of the hundreds that I have experienced. Personally I would not hesitate to use the subway with luggage in DC, it's easy.

On our arrival we flew into Dulles and it was weekday morning rush hour, but still wasn't a problem. Our departure was out of National around 5 pm, but it was a weekend so that was easy too. Might be a little tougher if it was weekday rush hour if you are worried about getting a seat.

Very few people are using the metro from Dulles so I'm sure it was pretty easy. The other direction from DC to Dulles would have been more of a headache, but would thin out as you pass Arlington and Tysons Corner.

So change at metro center instead of union station?? Not bad and would be cheaper than taxi or Uber from Dulles. Would not hesitate to use metro to Myaflower or The District(HGVC resort a couple block away from Mayflower)on my next trip to DC. I love the metro as it is really efficient.

Just rode the New York subway for a few days and I prefer the DC metro. Better laid out on what line to get on to get where you need to go. Or maybe I like metro more is because am more accustomed to it? Maybe a few more trips to NY and I will be able to make a better comparison.

Just rode the New York subway for a few days and I prefer the DC metro...
The memory of my first time in the DC metro is still quite vivid - I was gobsmacked at how cavernous and spotless the stations were. It was like I was on a different planet compared to the NYC subway system. Of course back then I was also disappointed that the Metro closed at night - the 24/7 nature of the subway was something I took for granted.

Now the only real advantage to the subway is frequency. I'm on the 1/2/3 and 4/5/6 lines quite often and I seldom have to wait more than 5 minutes while it's not uncommon to have to wait 10-20 minutes for the next Metro. Otherwise the Metro is wonderful...as I said upthread, we've had no problems taking our us and our luggage on the Red Line from Union station to the Mayflower and back again.
