We are MROP owners who are booked into See the Sea in San Diego the end of this month. I understand that MROP owns four units in the building. The reservation was made last year. Upon reading reviews of STS, I found that one of the MROP units, #24, is close to a bar that gets very noisy at closing time. I found out today after calling the front desk that we are booked into this unit. I said I'd read that#24 gets very noisy and asked if we could be changed into a different unit. She told me they couldn't do it and to call VRI, the exchange company for MROP. I called them and the person I spoke with refused to give us a different unit even after I told him I'd reserved there a whole year ago and asked if he could trade us with someone else. His reply was that he'd never heard the unit was noisy. I've always traded whatever MROP resort we were assigned to with RCI and never had a problem. I know the person I talked to (and I was polite) could've helped us if he had wanted.
My question is--does VRI not give any consideration to owners, or are they just simply uncooperative with everybody? I doubt that we'll ever go through them again if that's the way they are.
