Has anyone bought resale at WKORV lately?

Hello all. I have a friend who is going over this summer on the Explorer Package, and is definitely interested in buying. Having just gone through this and bought from the developer :annoyed: I was thinking of advising her to consider buying an EOY resale, then having them requalify/retro it while there to purchase from the developer.

During our preso, when we asked why we should buy from them instead of resale, they said that no resale units are available, as they buy them all (first right of refusal). Has this location been on the market long enough that this is no longer true? Are there units available for resale that actually get sold instead of repurchased?

Do you all think this is an advisable route to consider?

Thanks,
Evangeline

WKORV is one of the most expensive resorts, so it's not a good value to buy there to requalify. They would be better off to buy a resale at WKROV, and requalify it with a developer purchase, elswhere.

I would say don't bother doing a retro on WKORV. Since WKORV is already a mandatory resort, the only feature that you gain from a retro is the ability to convert to StarPoints. The MF's at this resort are too high to make that a worthwhile option.

Resales at this resort have been available for many years. That they told you SVN buys all the resales is a blatant lie. Just check historical posts here on TUG and you'll find resale threads back to 2005 (and would prior to that, but I think thats when the site migrated to the new format and may not have the history available here).

Maybe I'm missing something.
Why retro anything?
If your friend likes WKORV, he/she can just buy it on the resale market.
Sounds like it is being made more complicated than it needs to be.

I thought perhaps they were working on Elite Status, but I agree with Pathways, and Fredm - unless you are going for 5 Star Elite, there is little reason to requalify.

Yes. We just closed escrow on the 25th of January. I had placed an offer near the holidays and the 10 day window when they have an option to buy back was over Christmas/New Years. I was hoping that they would put it at the bottom of the pile during this time of year. =):cheer: So we were able to purchase this resale. =)
