We will be at Harborside soon. Does anyone know what you get for taking the timeshare tour? Is it worth it?

We have come to the conclusion that there is NO incentive that's valuable enough to make it worthwhile to waste several hours of precious vacation time, with a hard sale TS presentation!

The time requirement is 90 minutes, not several hours.

Not all Starwood timeshare presentations are hard sell. Some are.

But, if there is no intention of ever buying anything or an intention to sign papers and then rescind, the money or Starpoints are certainly not worth the aggravation and time traded away from those reasons you are on vacation. ... eom

How shall I phrase this without offending some that do this...

We know better than to buy from the developer. We just take the tour for the free dinner/starpoints/$$$ they give. My husband howls everytime I sign up for it but 90 minutes for a meal at Zozos is worth it! We are always polite when we delcine and only once did we have a problem with an overzealous (sp) salesperson.

If you have no intention of buying from the developer then don't do it. You will be wasting the salesperson's time and opportunity. No sale, no comission. It's easy enough to make $50-$100 elsewhere.

I'm not sure any incentive would be enough to pull us away from the attractions for half a day (that's realistically how much of the day those "90 minutes" cost you). Perhaps an afternoon tour on a day when there are plenty of cruise ships in harbor (and thus the waterpark would be crowded) might be worth it, though.
