Does booking include access to Atlantis waterpark or any other Atlantis property perks/discounts?

I have never been to Atlantis or Harborside
I believe I remember an old post warning that if you had a family of five including three young children and managed to squeeze into a unit for four you would be limited to 4 passes
Buying an additional pass would be very expensive
I can not recall if the resort allowed the fifth child and provided a crib or if the fifth person was added on the sly

That is correct - Harborside does not allow a 5th person in a room for 4, and they will not provide another bed. Day passes are $100 -$200 per day per person if you have to buy extra passes, but if you reserve a unit that is the right size, you will have enough armbands for your family - included at no charge. Children under 3 are admitted free. https://www.atlantisbahamas.com/daybooking

You can access the Aquaventure waterpark as well as most of the pools at Atlantis. The only exception being the Cove Pool. That pool is reserved for guests staying in the Cove tower at Atlantis.

Random question for you because I respect your opinions – would you recommend Harborside and Atlantis to a middle-aged (maybe “upper middle aged” if I’m being honest!) couple without kids? I’m sure we’d enjoy a day or two at the water park but are there other things to do there? I should do some homework and I am not asking for a travelogue, just wondering if this is more of a family place or if we'd enjoy it. Wondering if it’s worth a vacation or not. We are on the west coast so it’s a significant trek to get there and back.

My wife and I went to Atlantis twice before were married / had kids, and enjoyed it both times very much. The Beaches and aquariums are good. On-site restaurants are good. General entertainment was good. Now, granted, this was over a decade ago so it could have changed.

Expensive restaurants, a casino, spa, beach, plenty of adult things to do. I have been maybe 3 times spanning 15 years with kids. I would not ever go back if I were traveling from the west coast. Harborside specifically is nothing great, the value is in the waterpark passes. But if you enjoy spending any time in casinos or just want to see the Bahamas, you could find plenty of adult activities.

It's hard for me to see spending more than four days there - two enjoying the waterpark and the resort, a day in Nassau (in particular Bahamian Cookin', Graycliff, and the Public Library/Jail), and a day on the water somewhere else in the Bahamas. So if you combine that with some time in Marco Island/Everglades/South Beach you could make a nice MVC trip of it....but I wouldn't spend a week at Atlantis.

On the other hand, a week on St. John is absolutely worth the trip from the west coast. As is the RCC on St Thomas and maybe St Kitts and/or Frenchman's Cove.

I guess I should give the caveat that my two previous "adults-only" trips were 5 nights, not 7.

We went for nine nights the last time. Two at the Royal Tower and seven at Harborside. It all depends on the type of vacation you want. We didn't go to Atlantis every day.

Yeah i agree that there’s a lot to do outside Atlantis as well. We enjoyed Nassau as well.

Thanks for the info, that helps. We have been to St. John and loved it, I'm thinking I’d rather go back there then go to Harborside, but of course, I think Harborside is a LOT easier to get into. But will keep it in mind. Sounds like 4 or 5 days would be plenty there.

When we there without kids we spent 2 nights on Eleuthera using the Marriott certificate at French Leave Resort. Enjoyed the very quiet and isolated pink sand beach there. There are so many islands in the Bahamas to take a 1-2 night excursion to.
