Happy New Year - so how many 2020 SO do you have left?

Welcome to the New Year. It's always fun to see the Vistana dashboard advance to the new year as it's fun to dream about new possibilities. Since TUG users typically book well in advance - I thought it would be fun to see how many SO people have left for 2020?

I'll kick it off with the 500 options that remain (they are actually leftovers that I had banked from 2019 so they are double counted in 2021).

2021 - 653,725 (really 702,000 as there is an auto reserved week in there, which I will prob cancel)

32,725 are banked and counted in both...

We cancelled our Bahamas trip because my daughters wedding. But we have plans for more Maui and an Orlando trip in the fall for a few weeks. Plus banked options are counted twice. More planning ahead!

I plan all my vacations a year in advance (easy to do with the kids' school calendars). I'm evaluating plans for 2021 now.

You could bank them, but it probably isn't worth the fee unless you have no fee because of ownership level. Not enough for resort credit, I think you need 9,000 minimum for that and they can't be from resale weeks.

Are all mandatory resale owners worried we won't be able to use our StarOptions in 2021, because salespeople tell us the "new" system will make our StarOptions worthless???

We have about 197K remaining for 2020:

• 37K -- a WKV one bedroom shoulder season week which will go into Interval and be magically transformed into a Westin Princeville week.
• 160K which will get us and some good friends to Hawaii this fall via a StarOption exchange (which will be our third Hawaii trip during 2020).

The harder question to answer would be how many StarOptions haven't been used by May 1 of any calendar year (i.e. why any?).

We only have 45,300 SO's left for 2020, which we plan to use during the fall season. We are looking forward to four nights at WSJ combined with four nights at the Ritz on STT in late April as well.

CPNY, Making a long story short, 2019 was a crazy year, we had a big trip to europe, then a big surgery, then 1st time grand parents to twins. So not a lot of time share time. We rolled over about 270,000 options then cancelled our 3 bedroom Harborside for 2020.
We have plans to use many of them as my hobby is creating a spreadsheet my wife doesn’t understand because they never are clear to anyone but me. Our goal is 2, 3 week trips to Maui a year.

Just around 60K of banked options left for 2020 that must be used. Already made a 1/2/2021 reservation and depleted our 2021 options.

Wow, there are some serious star option totals. We have 525 left for 2020. Only 162000 for 2021 but also 3 voluntary platinum plus weeks at Lagunamar. Looking like 10 weeks in Cancun starting in week 1 2021

Just out of interest, what's your annual maintenance fees on that many options?

Wow! Some people own quite a bit. I’ve got 4825 left that I punted to 2021 (I have odd usage) to add to the 81,000 I’ll have then.

It’s just two of us and we travel off season so it’s plenty along with my HGV points.

I just got through paying all my maintenance fees for 2020 which was about $45k but I also own several resale units that don’t have StarOptions as well as non-Vistana timeshares.
