Hanalei Bay Resort unit through GPX

We (family of 4) are going to Hawaii for the first time this summer. The first week is a 2 br unit at Bay Club, Big Island. We were planning to go to Oahu for the 2nd week, but saw an opportunity to exchange into a 1 br 1ba unit at HBR through GPX via Bluegreen. I have read that the timeshare units at HBR were less than desirable for sometime. Has that changed after GPR management? Are they renovated and have AC? Recent pictures of the resort ground are really attractive. I am still not sure whether it is wise to skip Oahu on a first trip, so the unit condition will factor into the decision. Thanks.

All the units at HBR have been totally refurbished and are in very good shape. The 1 bedrooms have 2 bathrooms which is nice and summer is the best time to stay on the north shore.

Never stayed there but would jump at the chance if it came available

Thank you so much. I booked it and am super excited!!!!! The only thing is the 1 br is listed as 1 ba, so maybe there is more than one configuration

Their website lists AC for all units. Perhaps added during renovation.

There are a/c units in the living room and bedroom. Not central air, but individual units

You are right. The final check in voucher does say it's 1 br 2 baths.

I understand exchangers for 1 br are unlikely to have ocean view. But will we at least have pool, mountain, or garden view, rather than dumpster view as some old reviews claim? Anyone has experience?

Yes you will likely have a view of the pool or local mountains. It will be lovely.
