We were just confirmed at the Trapp Family Lodge (Guest Houses) Unit 8A. Can anyone give me an idea of where this house would be located? Or is there a site where I can view the propety? Is Unit A on the first or second level? Any information about this resort would be grately appreciated. TYIA

There’s a property map on this page.

My picture is of the other half of unit 8, but it looks like A should be up top. I was there last June and I got a different unit from what was listed on my II confirmation.

I didn’t stay in bldg 8, but I stayed in one on the same side of the parking lot. The hill is pretty steep. There are around 25 steps down to the bottom unit that I stayed in. The unit above us had the same 25 plus 12+\- steps up to their unit. If anyone has trouble with stairs, this resort might not be a good fit. There were a few units that had accessible walkways to the upper units, but most had stairs.

What is the name of the Main Dining Room? I understand we will need reservations.

The Dining Room. We didn’t eat there. We had breakfast at the Kaffeehaus and dinner at Von Trapp Brewing Bierhall which are both on property and very good.

I ate dinner at both The Von Trap Brewing Bierhall and The Dining Room. Honestly the food at the Bierhall was much better than the Dining Room. If I go back to Trapp Family Resort, which I hope to do someday, I would skip The Dining Room. The Whip Bar & Grill at The Green Mountain Inn in Stowe was excellent! Both good service and good food. I'd recommend it over The Dining Room.

I love the Whip! Been many times

We have yet to go to the Bierhall, but we will this June since we are staying in Stowe. We have friends who really enjoy it there.

The Bierhall is good and we do go there. However, we also go to the Lounge or Dining Room and order from the Lounge menu. I like the Johannesburger and the wienerschnitzel is a favorite of family members.

Trapp Family Lodge “Guest Houses (timeshare),” linked below. “The Villas” are not timeshare, they are a fractional product.

The Guest Houses are undergoing a major interior renovation (much needed) from 2025-2028.
