I thought, since I was a Platinum member, one of the perks was to get a Guest Cert. free. Was I dreaming or just asleep on the job??

You get a $20 rebate per GC, but I have yet to see any kind of credit on my account. I think Platinum is a huge ripoff, so far. Maybe at the end of the year they will tell me my credit.

Has your guest already used the reservation? I thought I read that you don't get the credit until the reservation has been used.

Oh no, the guest cert. was only purchesed today. It will be used in Feb. 2012. Do you think the credit will come then?

I was told the $20 would be credited at the end of the month following the month it is used. I never got a definitive answer if I still had to be Platinum at that time. I was told you have to be Platinum when you buy the GC, though.

I was going to join because I wanted to get a Hyatt, but then the one I wanted became available thru regular channels. So right now I have no reason to join. If they ever have London availability, I will be there!

Had $60 Credit

I just got one of the $199 Specials RCI had and when I went to pay there was a $60 credit...which I assumed was from the 3 Guest Certificates I paid for this past summer.

With II platinum, the GC are "free". Of course the cost of platinum in II is an additional $129 vs $55 for RCI.
