We own a week at the Grand Mayan Bliss in NV. I know we can use other Mexican resorts, but are they part of RCI or II? I did notice they were listed with RCI, but I have no information about it.

Thanks

Mayan Trading

There are SIX levels of ownership in the Grupo Mayan / Grupo Vidanta family -

Sea Garden, Mayan Palace, Bliss (very few sales at this level - no resorts open to date), Grand Mayan, Grand Bliss and Grand Luxxe.

Of those, the first five trade with RCI. Only the Grand Luxxe trades with II. Some of the levels also trade with the Registry Collection and SFX.

Thanks for the information

It's the Grand Mayan

We are with II and have been able to exchange and use the Getaway weeks with Grand Luxxe. This week we have seen Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace pop up for available Getaway weeks - but I don't know if they are available for exchange through II -- yet. I don't see why not since Grand Luxxe is available too.

RCI or II?

Hi there-

I'm a Grand Mayan owner and have used RCI extensively. However...I am kind of tired of RCI's quality of resorts. It appears the II has much higher quality resorts. Is this correct?

Hi,
I am also an RCI and a Mayan Palace owner. I recently joined II and deposited my Las Vegas week (they didn't belong to RCI) and was able to trade for a NV GL 2 bedroom suite for next August. It'll be hot, but it's definitely a higher quality trade on II not available on RCI.

Is there any way that a Grand Mayan member can deposit with II?
I see Grand Mayan weeks on II in what would be the RCI equivalent of Extra Vacations. But I don't know if Grand Mayan can be deposited. I don't think so, but others here would know for sure.

There are Grand Mayan exchanges, too.

Hmmm....I called and attempted to join II and was told that I could not join. :(

Grand Mayan was not allowing owners to transfer with II
dqdude,
I just did an II request as a trial.
If I try to exchange with a deposit, I can get Grand Luxxe, but no MP or GM.
If I try a getaway (like extra vacations with RCI) for which you pay only (no deposit used), then Grand Luxxe, Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace is available.
So it looks like RCI has exclusive deposits for Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace which excludes II, even though you can get GM and MP with II getaways.
There are other exchanges companies you could try.

Rci, II, HSI?

We bought our second timeshare with another couple 1 yr ago. The salespersons stated that the Grand Mayan was affiliated with RCI & HSI. No mention of II. Since I'd heard nothing good about HSI, figured we'd only deal through RCI with this timeshare. Now I'm hearing about II. I wish that we could deal with II, because RCI's resort reliability doesn't seem as high as in the past. The number of RCI affiliated resorts also seems to have decreased & their rating system has changed so much over the years that they're not reliable. Hopefully, II will help with those that can trade through them. :ponder:

RCI vs II

We are members of both and haven't used RCI for years after being very frustrated trying to exchange with them. We were given most of our years with RCI and are waiting for them to expire and have no desire to ever to renew with RCI. Thus I am frustrated with Mayans for not depositing with II also. I think if a lot of members start telling Mayan that we want to deposit with II maybe they'll listen (remember the battle over the fence going to Sea Gardens?) Hope that the fence is still solved when we get there in Feb. Anyway, I think I'll start a new thread about this and hope all you members will join me. Let's make some noise about it!
