Hello from the land of cheap lobstah rolls and scenic oceanfronts.

We're using MRPs and staying in downtown Portland in a nice-ish Autograph Collection hotel, the Press Hotel. I would have stayed at the Residene Inn, but could not get 4 nights in a row.

We are here to take another, but more comprehensive, window restoration class. It's a 3 day course. Both Doug and I are taking it together. The cost isn't too bad, $500 x 2. Much cheaper than the $1200 per window cost ( x20) windows at my old house and my windows aren't even that large or historic. Just old. 6 over 1 windows are labor-intensive, but not as intensive as the windows in my last house, 12 over 12.

I like restoring old houses, furniture and stuff. This is not only something neat to learn, it's nice knowing that we're not adding to our local landfill.

Will do.

Got my Tyvek suit, N-100 respirator, booties and hair cover all set and ready to go.

Lead paint is always suspect with these old windows, doors, cupboards, mouldings, etc. So, we'll test for lead and see what happens.
