Hello,

Just checked the AA website, round trip from Boston to Aruba 7/3/08-7/12/08 is $439.40 if anyone is interested. $338.00 plus tax. I booked last week at $479.40. Ouch !!

If you call AA they will sometimes credit you the difference when the fares go down. They did this twice for us.

That is just about the only positive thing I have to say about AA these days. Even if JetBlue is $100 or $150 more expensive, we will use them over AA for our future trips to Aruba. We've pretty much had it with AA.

I've been looking at BOS-AUA pricing for next June and right now it's $400 with taxes which seems like a pretty good price, even a little cheaper than what the OP got, I just can't make up my mind whether to go to Aruba next June or Las Vegas next April (I know, two totally different places!!). I'm expecting the $400 fare to start jumping up any time so I may end up kicking myself if I don't hurry up and make up my mind, maybe I should just let my husband decide.

Having been to both Las Vegas and Aruba in the last year, I would choose Aruba hands down. You still have gambling like Vegas but so much more to do (beach and outdoor activities especially) and can enjoy leisure time far from the fast pace and congestion of Vegas. The only downside is that there isn't as much entertainment (shows) in Aruba.

Thanks for your input.:) We're thinking Las Vegas more for it's day and overnight trips than the strip since we'd have our teen daughter with us. We'd do an overnight trip to Zion and a couple day trips to Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, etc, as well as take in a show or two in Vegas. We vacationed in Sedona last summer with an overnight trip to the Grand Canyon and we just loved that area of the country, very different from New England!! We're going to the USVI's in December and on a Caribbean cruise next November so we'll get our beach fix in the coming year even if we decide against Aruba. Aruba has been on my list of places to go for several years now but for some reason whenever it comes right down to making a decision we always end up choosing another destination.
