Hi:

We are exchanging into a Grande Luxxe Nueva Vallarta - 2br for Easter week this year and was hoping that fellow TUG'rs could share some of their favorite (and least favorite) things to do in the area, restaurants to visit, places to avoid and tours to consider. We have been to NV before but not in the past 5yrs. Any help with restaurant recommendations, tours, etc. would be great.

thanks!

We were there last year during Easter Week. Understand that the resort is overwhelmingly latin american guests that week. We had a great time with them, but be prepared to explain to your kids why they can't drink while their Mexican peers can. Incidentally, I noted that some of the teens were drinking, but because there's no taboo about it they didn't drink to excess. While almost everyone there was speaking Spanish, people took the time to include us in discussions, even changing the entire group to english to accommodate us. We thought that was an excellent gesture. Everything will be booked to the hilt. No extra rooms at all. Also make sure if you are traveling with teen boys to explain the cultural notion with the girls that it's all looks and no touch. My son learned there's always an older brother watching! You'll have a great time.
