There is availability at least in a 1 BR from Jan 1st onward.

Not much change in the availability at the other two towers at HHV.

Unless Waikikian owners switch there existing reservations at the other towers over to the new tower, it looks like expenses point options are the only thing available in Oahu.

I predict this will be the norm, Waikikian rooms left but Kalia and Lagoon tower booked solid, as they are about 1/2 the points required that the Waikikian requires.

Sandy, I think you are right. The Lagoon & Kalia Towers will now be maxed out on a regular basis and the Grand Waikikian will have more availability.

I saw a 2 Bedroom for the Grand Waikikian on the new system going for I think just around 15,000 points for a week. To me that's a steep use of points for one week. :(

On the good side, it means that there will be lots of "open season" availability at Waikikian. Unfortunately, the open season rates for it are ridiculous compared to any other HGVC resort.

The open season cash rates are more too? Or are you just referring to open season having availability to book for points?

If there is a different cash rate where is the new rate sheet?

I believe all the units in the Waikikian are classified as "premier". In the Members guide, Open Season Rates say the 1BR is $120 weekday, and $140 weekend, but online, it says $140 for weekday, and $160 for weekend. I called and asked about 3 months ago to see which price was right, and I still am not sure. Either way, it is certainly way up from a standard 1BR.
