I have a one bedroom floating week 1-52 at Grand Regency Resort at Thousand Hills in Branson, MO I'm willing to give away. Initially we purchased the week to use but, when we converted our DRI weeks to points we found it was easier to book at The Suites at Fall Creek. We have been using this week as an exchange week but, we own 7 other timeshare weeks and just don't need it anymore. It is our only week in our personal I.I. account and I'd like to close that account so, I'm willing to give this week away.

Southwind Management requires a transfer fee of $125, which I'm willing to pay, and $1,500 of future maintenace fee's to be paid to the resorts HOA by certified check. Current MF's are $285 as of 2012 so this would be the equivilent of a little over 5 years advanced MF's.

Photo's of the unit can be viewed by clicking on the picture below:

So long as you select a decent week it trades reasonably well. We've used it to upgrade to large units at nicer resorts, including Marriott's Willow Ridge Resort in Branson. Last year we used it to trade into a 2 bedroom Sept. week at Grand Lodge on Peak 7 in Breckenridge and the year before that we used it to trade into a 2 bedroom July week at the Ridge Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, NV.
We've always used I.I.'s Trade Demand Index or TDI to select the week we want to deposit and we've had good results.

Let me make sure I'm clear. I'm willing to pay the transfer fee and closing costs. I'm not willing to pay the $1,500 in advance MF's. At least not at this point. I'd like to give this week away so I can close this one I.I. account but, I'm not so desperate that I'm willing to pay $1,500 to do it. The week trades well, the MF's are cheap enough at $285 and I can find ways to use it. But if someone else wants it and doesn't mind paying their MF's that far in advance, they can have it.

So, the management company requires 5 years to be paid in advance? Wow, I've never heard of that. Sorry for my confusion Doug.

Actually, they require a $1,500 advance payment on MF's regardless of how much the MF would be. SWM also manages our unit at French Quarter Resort in Branson. The MF at FQ for our 2 bedroom unit is around $500/year and, it's a biannual week. On biannual weeks SWM only requires 1/2 of the $1,500, or $750. So if we wanted to sell our FQ biannual week, it's only be a little more than a years MF in advance.

It's only that this particular resort week is so inexpensive at $285 that makes the $1,500 seem so outstanding.
