Grand Pacific states it is Hilton affiliated, what's that mean?

Just accepted an invitation to the sales presentation at Grand Pacific in Carlsbad -- the new one that advertises as being a Hilton 'affliate'. I want to ask the right questions as to what it can offer in the Hilton family. Can you Hilton owners tell me what Grand Pacific IS NOT a participant in the Hilton family of timeshares?

As far as I know currently only the Grand Pacific that is Hilton affiliated is the Marbrisa, now under construction in Carlsbad, I assume right next to the current Grand Pacific resort there.

Yes, Marbrisa is where we are attending, but I am hoping to find out what pitfalls this resort has for being a part of the Hilton family; i.e., could you get into the Hilton Florida resorts, etc. via exchanging Hilton points.

You can belong to HGVC club and have all the privileges as HGVC member - ie: exchange your HGVC points to Hilton Honors points.
