Grande Ocean Platinum, 3 x Grand Chateau 3 Bedroom (annual, EOY Odd, EOY Even).,
Friday I submitted a place request to the Grand Ocean (for 7/24-7/31) with my Monarch (8/13-8/20). I need to sleep 8 and not 6. It took less then 36 hours to get a confirmation. The confirmation has 6 private and 6 max on it with 1 queen in the 2nd bedroom. I haven't traded to the Grand Ocean in 15 years but I know this to be wrong. The II online directory has it listed as 6 private and 6 Max also. I know this is wrong but I wonder how II can't get it right and Marriott can't correct it after all these years.

I placed the request 10 months out believing it would be difficult to get based on the many questions raised on the availability of Marriott to Marriott exchanges within II with the DC program. It was a nice surprise. I was expecting to have to rent my Monarch and use this to rent a Grand Ocean.
The exchange was easy and painless.

Can't speak on the sleeping arrangement at GO, but what a fantastic trade. I too thought those kinds of trades were all but gone.

I was at GO last summer in one of the newly renovated units. The second bedroom had a queen and a pullout sofa. If I remember right, the living room sofa was not a pullout bed. I think thats the difference making it a sleep 6.

Called GO. They do not know why II changed it to sleep 6 but they all Sleep 8. 30 of the rooms have a queen and pull out sofa in the 2nd br. They rest have 2 queens. They all have a pull out in the living room.

II is incorrect in the number it sleeps.

Most of the second bedrooms at GO have two queens but there have always been a few units with a queen and a sleeper sofa in that bedroom. All units have a sleeper sofa in the living area. The number of beds hasn't changed with any refurbs.
