Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta state tax?

I have a question about the additional tax that is added on. I believe I read on the RCI confirmation that there is a state 3% lodging tax, but 3% of what amount? Does anyone know what this tax would be for a one bedroom? For a two bedroom?

I believe it is that percentage of the maintenance fee. It's typical of all the resorts in Mexico. Does not add up too much

This past winter we Stayed at three different resorts. Paradise Village, Flamingo's and the Grand Mayan. I find it interesting the GM was the only resort that charged the 3% state tax. When we asked at the resorts that didn't charge it, they didn't seem to know it existed.

I also have a SFX week in Nov. I asked Scarlet at SFX and she said when she stayed there it was less than 20.00 total.

I think the mt. fees for Grand Mayan 2 bedrooms are a little over $800 so it would be about $24 for the week. We've been to some Mexican resorts who charge and some who don't but noone seems to know why some charge and some don't?????

I own many timeshares throughout Mexico and have noted I have only been charged this fee when on an exchange at Mayan, and maybe one other resort. I do own at Mayan but have not yet stayed as an owner just on exchange.

Every exchange I have done thru RCI in Mexico has listed this fee though but not all have charged it, so who knows. It is not a large fee though so do not worry!
