Grand Mayan 1/5 rule

I just visited the grand mayan on 4/2007 but I made the confirmation about a year and a half in advance. Since they waived the 1/5 rule during the time I visited can I go again next April 2008. My confirmation did not say the rule was waived. Will the be waiving the rule again.

As long as the travel dates fall within the promotional range (5/1 - 10/31/07) you can confirm again. However, the travel dates need to be in that range. Travel in 2008 would not be eligible for the waiver. This is an ad-hoc promotion that is likely to occur again, but I cannot predict precisely when.

I have an ongoing search and get offered a MP which is put on hold for my review. Then I try to confirm and it is not eligible due to the 1 in 5 rule. The main problem is my search is stalled during this process and I would miss an eligible exchange. Since it is just a matter of comparing my id number with the MP or GMP resort id, why can't the system do this before offering the unit rather than waiting until when I try to confirm it to say no deal? This would be a great improvement and in computer terms very simple. If there then were promotions when the restrictions were lifted they could offer the match when it becomes a valid offer. Does RCI have a plan for this improvement since MP resorts are a large part, and a large issue, of Mexican exchanges?

Grand Myan

I stayed at the Myan Palace on 5/06.
I just made a reservation and was confirmed on 1/08 at Grand Myan.

I called RCI to make sure that there would not be a 1/5 rule problem and was told by RCI rep that Myan resorts would be the ones to cancel reservation not RCI so call Grand Myan.

Grand Myan said that RCI cancels the reservations NOT Mayan Resorts.

I asked that if I have a confirmed reservation and show up would I be told I can't stay here because of the 1/5 rule and I was told that would not happen.

So... HELP ME OUT HERE.
