Grand Chateau, designated 2 bedrooms, or are all of them lockoffs?

I am wondering this for a trip we have planned with some friends. I think it would be nice to be in separate units, with a separate small living area and coffeemaker for our guests.

If there are designated two bedrooms and lockouts, is there a way to tell what you are going to have?

Thanks in advance.

MGC studio lockoffs

All of the two bedrooms at MGC lockoff into a one bedroom with a full kitchen and a studio with a coffee maker, toaster and small refridge. You can separate the unit by simply locking the connecting door. This won't cost you anything.

However, if you want to have the studio in a different location you might have to pay a fee to lock off. I did this through II for this May and I paid a lockoff fee to II.

If you want to retain a two bedroom for yourself and rent a studio for your friends you can probably do it through II or with contacts through other owners. Studios are plentiful at MGC because a lot of the owners lockoff their units and use them to trade. The rental for a studio isn't very expensive if you deal directly with an owner or with II.

Not quite. There are two types of 2BR units at GC.

There are 2BR units that lock off into a 1BR and a studio. Most of the 2BR units fall in this category.

There are also 2BR units that are part of 3BR units that lock off into a 2BR and a full 1BR. There is one of these at the end of each floor in each wing.

If I had my choice, I would take the 2BR that's part of the 3BR units, because they are at the end of each floor and the views are semi-wraparound. It sounds as though your preference would be for the 2BR that locks off into a 1BR and a studio.

If you have a preference, call the resort about two weeks in advance and specify your preference to the rooms control person.

If exchanging online, the 2 bedroom unit that is part of the 3 bedroom LO unit will show 2 queen size beds in the second bedroom and will not have a mini-kitchen (in addition to the regular kitchen) included in the amenities.

The traditional 2 bedroom unit will show a king size bed in the second bedroom and will list features found in the mini-kitchen.

There may also be a difference in the number of people each style unit will sleep but I'm uncertain about that.
