Got a great rental from Ron and Joan at Governor's Green next month. It will be my first Wyndham timeshare stay, and my first trip to Williamsburg. I hope the weather cooperates, as I do want to see the historical sites 'in action.' Also going to take a side trip to enjoy my niece's restaurant in Virginia Beach that was recently featured on the Food Network's Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins show.

Sounds like a sweet little trip. We plan to be there for 4 night Feb 4th for a little time away. Governor's Green is our favorite place in Williamsburg. It will be cold.

I agree. GG is the best of the three Wyndham facilities in Williamsburg. There doesn't seem to be much going on at Patriot's Place although it is a perfectly fine place to stay (and in January/February, it probably doesn't make much difference). There is too much going on at Kingsgate and the mandatory "amenities fee" to support game room for pre-teens is annoying.

Williamsburg is about 2-1/2 hours from home so we go there fairly often, especially for long weekends, and do the "shop 'til you drop" at the outlet mall.

Recommend Rocco's BBQ place on the bypass. Also, there is an oriental buffet tucked in the corner of the K-Mart shopping center near Kingsgate. It has about quadrupled in size in the last ten or fifteen years. Good food, a variety of Chinese/Japanese/Thai dishes and an amazing decor.

Thank you, guys - Chinese/Asian buffet sounds good!

Especially since Patriots Place and Kingsgate have a inter-resort agreement to permit guests of Patriots Place to use the Kingsgate facilities for free.
