Package included 1 ipod, 1 usb cord and 1 set of earphones. NO INSTRUCTIONS. I guess refurbished doesn't get instructions.

I downloaded itunes and uploaded all my cds. Tomorrow I'll plug in my ipod and try to download the songs I uploaded. I hope itunes is self explanatory because I'm clueless.

I was able to set the time and date and looked at the calendar and then I couldn't shut it off so I just left it and it went off by itself (I guess).

The highlight moves by me just moving my finger over the front. No pushing buttons. Finger going down, highlight going up. Same for the reverse.

I found a website called ilounge and I printed what sounds like good instructions. I'll try 1 thing at a time and see how I do. I may be back with questions. I also emailed my 15 yr old grandson and told him to expect emails from me.

Kay,
Check out the IpodLounge. Somebody here pointed me to it awhile back. Its the TUG for Ipods. There are "how to" articles, a bulletin board, and a whole lot more.

So far, so good. I downloaded all my own cds to my ipod with success. Played with the itunes website just to see what it does. I found a page with instructions for each type of ipod.

The funny thing is I couldn't find the "off" switch. I thought the lock at the top was the on/off switch and ran down my battery the first day because I thought it went off by itself with no activity. The online instruction told me different.

I think I'll be fine. Thanks for all the hints. Sure glad I didn't buy the shuffle. It's so small that I would have lost it by now.:D

I love my Ipod and now have learned how to load youtube video's on it also. I also enjoy plugging it into the laptop and then plugging the laptop into our surround sound system. Cleaning to house has new meaning when I can have my music up loud. :D
