The Tampa greyhound track is a FEMA site. It's all run by the military. I drove up without an appointment. I was in and out in 20 minutes and that's because they wanted us to sit for a few minutes after getting the shot. They said sit for 15. I sat for about 5 and got up and left.

From what I read, the FEMA sites will only be doing the J&J going forward. Most likely because it's a one and done. I tried to get an appointment via Publix but they were always full. This was way better. My left arm is a little sore but that's it.

We actually got appointments at CVS for J&J vaccines. Went on Tuesday. There is a church next door to us that is doing drive through of Pfizer with no appointment, though they will schedule the second dose while you are there. Our road has been much busier because of it.

the fema sites are shutting down soon so they’re going to JJ only because it’s one and done. They were also doing second Moderna shots there but no firsts. Once all the seconds are done the whole thing will be shut down.

I had been reading an article that indicated that supply of JJ vaccines was going to be dropping dramatically over the next week. Anticipated deliveries were going to be down. Not sure what was up with that but glad we got our shots on Tuesday.

A manufacturing screwup forced throwing out 15 million doses. That is why supply is down.

Last week, I got my first Pfizer jab from CVS, I had to go to one nearer to work (Lakeland FL) since most of the ones nearer to me (between Orlando and Daytona Beach) were filled. Just a sore arm. My 2nd dose will be the 25th, same location. My dad got his jabs last month (he's going on 87), he had Flu-like symptoms for a few days. My sister is a "long-hauler", she caught it a couple months ago because someone brought it to her husband's work, he got it, then she got it.

If feeling like :poop: for a few days means I have a tiny chance of getting it, I think I can manage!

No side effects. Arm isn’t even sore anymore.

Vodka fixed it.
I never tried rubbing vodka on my arm before. Another valuable lesson from TUG. :)

My son, who is 23, decided to take the same route as me and get his J&J vaccine at the Tampa site. He’s 6 feet tall, 150 lbs of lean muscle. Totally healthy. He gets the shot on Saturday and gets clobbered. Total Wu Flu symptoms. Weird headache, chills and aches and just dog tired. He had to take today off from work. He said he’s starting to feel better just still really tired.

I had nothing. Maybe a little tiredness but it’s hard to tell if that was normal or from the shot.

Crazy how people have different reactions to the vaccine. I suppose just as crazy as Covid itself impacts people differently from no symptoms to death.

I wonder if somewhere along the lines there will be a tie in......how your reaction the vaccine would be an indicator of how you would have responded to Covid the virus.
