Got breakthrough COVID

I spent all day at Disneyland yesterday, started to feel tired with a slightly sore throat in the evening. This morning: sick with sore throat, nasal congestion, headache, extreme tiredness, muscle pain, progressing to chills and fever by the afternoon.

COVID home test was positive.

My doctor phoned in a prescription for Paxlovid and 3-4 hours after taking my first dose, I’m feeling way better. Fingers crossed that trend continues.

I’m vaccinated with one booster. Was due to get the second booster but expected to get sick from it so I was waiting for a weekend without much going on.

Have been free of fever for about ten days now. Still have a mild cough. Home test kit result yesterday was negative.

I was negative for the first time today, on day 8. I was pretty sick from Friday through Monday (4 days), then tired/recovering through now. Still have a mild cough as well, and mild nasal congestion.

It feels like it was twice as long, it’s hard to believe it’s only been a week.
