From driving too fast over some speed bumps (pretty sure that's what caused it), the heavy-gauge plastic cover for the temporary spare tire on my Dodge minivan got cracked & torn in 2 places.

I cleaned off all the accumulated road dirt with strong spray cleaner, then hosed off the spare tire cover with plenty of clear water. After letting the cover dry off outside for an hour or so, I brought it inside to warm up. I lined up the separated edges along both sides of the 2 torn places so they lay nice & flat, then patched over the cracks on both sides (inner & outer) using plenty of Gorilla Tape on the clean, dry plastic surfaces.

Exposure to all that road dirt & road spray & snow & slush & road grease & road grit & mud, etc., right there under the middle part of the minivan (under the floor below the front seats) will be a pretty good test for the durability of Gorilla Tape -- the 1st time I've used that stuff for anything. It'll be interesting to see whether it holds up to a few seasons of those conditions.
