I just bought from the developer a 1 BDR Gold at HGVC (3400 points) for $14,490 with 14,000 bonus points.

I normally buy resale, but the 14,000 bonus points caught my eye. They convert at 25 to 1 to HHonors points so that should be 350,000 HHonors points or two weeks in a cat 6 Hilton. I'm guesstimating the bonus points are $3500.

Is this a good deal? Did I analyze it correctly? Or should I rescind and give up on the bonus points?

Thanks in advance,

Terpy

Ouch! Rescind!!!

Gold season points go for around $1 - $1.25 resale...sometimes less.

Bonus points have limitations on their use and I'm not certain they convert to HHonors.

You can do MUCH better on the resale market.

Rescind.

Bonus points do convert to hhonors points. (This is new.) However, they're not worth what you're paying. Rescind and buy resale; you'll save more than enough money to buy the hotel nights.

This may not be a bad deal.
If you plan on Europe Cat 6 with the HH points then this may be valuable. Crunch the HH point numbers required vs. nightly rate on the particular Hilton hotels where you plan on staying and you"ll see the real value, and be sure to examine the 'Going Global' lower HH point useage to further strech your points...The Waldorf Astoria collection does not take the "Going Global" just HH points per night.... :)

Those bonus/HH points could be worth what, ~$3K, maybe? They'll soon be gone, and then guess what? You'll be left w-a TS for which you still paid Too Much.
