We are headed to Puerto Vallarta for two weeks in January and I am doing some preliminary research on golf in the area. I know that many of the courses in Mexico are drop-dead gorgeous, but most of those are priced out of our comfort zone as well.

I'm hoping that there are Tuggers who will have personal experience with golfing the courses in PV and be able to provide me with some insight into whether or not it will be worth it to haul our clubs. I'm not opposed to looking for deals on the various websites, but of course you can't do that until much closer to the date you are looking for.

Is it reasonable to think that we will be able to golf for less than $150 usd? it looks like we should be able to do that at the Marina Vallarta public course, but is it hard to get on there?

Thanks so much for sharing your valuable experiences!

I've only played the Norman course and the little par 3 course at Vidanta. Both are very nice and the par 3 is a lot of fun.

You can take a taxi to the one in PV probably for $20 USD. You would have to check the fare at the taxi stand.
