Just got the notice below. I don't golf, so I have no idea if it is a good deal:

You're invited to join fellow Owners of The Westin Kā‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas for an exclusive Owners-only tournament on December 9, 2015.

Players will face off on the Kā‘anapali Kai Course for 18 holes, followed by an award reception at Pūlehu, an Italian Grill.

The tournament is held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Ocean Resort Master Association. To participate in the tournament and the meeting, please reserve your villa online*. Once your week is reserved, you may register for the tournament.

Space is limited, so be sure to register by December 4, 2015

Should you have any questions, please email Krystle.Silva@westin.com. We look forard to seeing you.

Sincerely,

Your Association Board of Directors

Here's what is funny - at this point in time, it's totally impossible to make a reservation for 2015, so this is completely ludicrous!

Also - any reservation made now would be a Staroption reservation, and the owner will lose their view.

Yes. But they do this every year - so it is essentially an invite to the 100s of owners staying that the resort during this time. Next year - we will be staying at WKORV this time year (special occasion to move from Sept) - and IF I played golf - I would go. Maybe I will learn by then?

If it's targeted to guests who already have reservations, it would make a LOT more sense to send invitations to them, rather than making it seem like everyone is invited, and everyone has an opportunity to participate.

Playing golf with the Big Wigs would be such a Salty thing to do! :D

Got basically the same thing in the mail for WPORV. Would be nice if I was going to be there that week but otherwise, just a waste of postage...
