One & Done!
Generally we avoid buffets because they tend to be germy, with people talking over food trays and touching the serving spoons. We used to go to high-end buffets once in a while and our favorite was Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace. Now all the casinos here have closed down buffets, which in my opinion a good thing.
They are all closed.Good observation... How are the high end casinos buffets going to operate after Covid-19?
Liked in Vegas, Atlantic City, Washington, DC, Reno, Myrtle Beach and all over the USA. x

Thanks Karen G. This is a very sad story because of the large numbers of unskilled jobs , that will be loss across our nation. The majority of these workers will not have employment after COVID-19Here's some info on Las Vegas buffets: https://www.reviewjournal.com/enter...gas-casinos-might-have-had-their-day-2031935/
We enjoy the annual tug meeting at Golden Coral, but might have to change to a different place, hard to social distance at a get together.I personally like GC and have never had any problems with it, but it's on the bottom of my list of restaurants I want to go. So I will go, but it isn't a favorite.
There used to be a Furr's Cafeteria near us in the Nortglenn Mall, when we had an indoor mall. Years ago it was a cafeteria and you paid per item, then they turned it into AYCE and still had the cafeteria works dishing up the food for you, and the food was all covered in glass but visible to you, so you could choose the food that looked good. This is a good idea for GC. Just have servers filling the plates. They will have to hire more people to do it, but it would work.
Viruses have always been an issue for these restaurants and now it's become something that everyone is concerned about.
I love Biergarten in Epcot. I think they will start serving food to us, instead of us serving ourselves at that buffet. It's gotten expensive, anyway. Disney food is blah.
So are Cruises for nowAlso, buffets on cruise ships are gone.
Canned pudding. blech.I don't get excited about any restaurant that serves pudding for dessert.
If they do reopen, I doubt they will have buffet and/or salad bar. I don't see buffets being in our futureThere are two Golden Corrals in our area. One is simply awful and I wouldn't blame anyone for turning sour on the chain if that was their only experience. The other is clean, well-managed with great employees and is our go-to place when we decide on the spur of the moment to go out. We tend to eat vegan/vegetarian and it is one of the few places where we know we can find something we can eat and where we have so many choices. Our good Golden Corral has a great salad bar section, baked sweet and regular potatoes, one or two different kinds of rice dishes, one or two different kinds of beans, at least six or seven different vegetable choices, lots of fresh fruit. We can go there with friends or family who want steak or chicken or seafood and everyone is happy. Their afternoon senior special is a real deal and that's when we typically go if we go. GC wouldn't be our choice for a nice dinner or date night out, but we have missed it since they've been closed and will be really sorry if they don't reopen.
I agree management makes all the differences for any business. You can include federal, state , city and any private business. A good manager set the tone for their organization. IMHO.Funny this thread made its own thread as a popular subject.
Management makes all the difference for most any business to thrive, or a black eye !
I have another topic in mind for fun

They may resort to boxed bf, each guest who shows up with their room key takes a box.How will hotels or are hotels with a free breakfast buffet working? A very low cost for each guest but only works with volume. A la Carte would be a much bigger expense.

Credit GC to being able to adapt. Adapting to changes is critical for businesses to be able to continue. Not being able to adapt(amongst other things) caused many companies to go bankrupt like Sears and JC Penney. Some golden corrals have already reopened with "cafeteria style" strategy
