Global Access merging with Holiday Inn?

I received this email this morning. "We have some exciting news! The Family of Orange Lake Resorts is proud to announce that we have formed a unique strategic alliance with a brand that you know and trust, Holiday Inn. This alliance between The Family of Orange Lake Resorts and the Holiday Inn brand, owned by a company in the Intercontinental Hotels Group, creates a new timeshare brand, Holiday Inn Club Vacations. Effective December, 2008, the name for the GlobalAccess club will become Holiday Inn Club. New benefits will be created for you, our member, while keeping your existing purchase and membership benefits fully intact."

Holiday Inn to enter timeshare business

Holiday Inn struck a deal with the four Orange Lake Resorts to rebrand them into Holdiay Inn Club Vacations. Orange Lake will join Holiday Inn's reservation system, and Orange Lake owners can join the Holiday Inn rewards points network.

Interesting tidbit of information, Kemmons Wilson, is the founder of both Holiday Inn and Orange Lake Resorts

This is exciting news. I am a member of Priority Club, SPG, HHonors, and Marriott Rewards. I have always had a pleasant stay and Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Intercontinental Hotels. This can only benefit those who own TS via GlobalAccess Club. HGVC started out when Hilton became involved with a group of TSs in Florida. As a member of HGVC since 2001, I can assure you that the HHonors benefits are outstanding. Holiday Inn is a fine company and I am certain that Priority Club benefits will be extended to all members of GlobalAccess Club.

We recently had the pleasure of staying in Whistler, British Columbia. There is a beautiful Holiday Inn Sunspree resort very close to the ski lifts in Whistler Village. You might consider staying there for a vacation. There is also a beautiful Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Aurba. You might want to stay there as well.
