I have not been able to find anything concrete On this topic.

i live in the USA and have never been or will be a U.K. resident.

My UK timeshares are worthless and I am struggling to even give it away.

the resort wants a couple years of fees to take them back.
i have no loans and am considering just walking away.

From what I have read this would likely not hit my credit report In the USA.

it Also looks like they do not have my social security number anyway as there were never any loans
and they did not require it.

FYI - I am aware of the free tug form but my resort did not find a taker when it was last pos\ted and I have several to give away.

anyonechave advice or experience on this situation?

Is it a deed or RTU? Are these the only timeshares you own in that system?

These are fixed deeded weeks - Unfortunately not part of a system anymore which is why they are worthless.

Since it is a deed you should check with a UK lawyer.

If it were an RTU, most European timeshares have a 6 -18 month abandonment clause in their charter. Check the charter docs for non-payment. If you don't plan to visit the UK again there is not much they can do AFAIK but I am not a lawyer and do not have firsthand experience with deeds in the UK.

Stop paying and walk away. They will end up taking them back via default

But, so far, the points are still usable in HGVC

It is still part of HGVC system. Have you tried sell via on-site Coy Rep?

I’m aware - but I’m too heavily leveraged in a worthless timeshare. mostly concerned on impact if I am forced to walk away down the road.

no luck so far - even giving it away. Sue Smith who sold a couple of my week for HIGVC works for COY now

That is the challenge with what happened at Coy... It makes it hard to sell without the connection with HGV. There are owners who use they and aren't in HGV, too bad you couldn't give it to one of them. Does Coy do internal auctions? Craig does.

COY is still a work in progress post transition and the infrastructure for sale is basically Facebook postings with limited responses.

They should do what Craig does with the internal exchanges and owner auctions.

Owner auctions? Is that user group and private listings?
Internal to owners via the owner website. They have one each year and owners can auction off their week. Most aren't the best weeks since they are silver weeks and the like but a free way to try to offload. This year they did allow owners to bring in family and friends though.

Here is the site but you need to be an owner to access the page that provides the auction. I am sure it will be posted later this year again when the next auction is, https://www.craigendarroch.com/

Actually, I don't know. I assumed that they were from deedbacks and owners. There is a owner's sales page, https://www.craigendarroch.co.uk/sale.htm#buy but I am not sure how up to date it is. It has a section of where individual owners have their week(s) listed and a section where folks are listing what they want to buy.
