Thats kind of why I think it might be worth taking the 8500 points for the deeded timeshare they are near worthless. The 8500 points may not be worth much either but I will get rid of Hawaii dues every year and we will still have places to go. In the future if we miss it we could always buy someone's Hawaii timeshare again for peanuts lol.

Before you even consider this - rescind your new purchase, and do your homework. I think you will discover that this is not the deal it's cracked up to be. You have MANY other options to unload the TS in Hawaii, and buy something you really want and can use. There is no reason to rush into the points deal.

Not Diamond... but Exploria tried nearly the same thing with us...
Buy a point-pkg from /them/ and they'd "give" us more points in exchange for our deed.
Of course they would... considering what we'd give them: A ton of $$ + our TS. No sale.

We love success stories. Who knows, your first thread might even make the newsletter!

Congratulations!

DRI: The Point at Poipu, 3 deeded weeks, 1 of which is in The Club.
There is no cost to me. If i give them my deeded week they are giving me 8500 points.

You mentioned the fees for your deeded week. How much would the fees be for 8500 points, not counting the Club dues? DRI would like to get all the deeded weeks into trusts. It gives them more profit for managing the trust collections.
