I'm giving a timeshare (Sheraton Desert Oasis SDO 2BR lockoff EOY even) to my son. I'll transfer the deed and pay the transfer fee. Is LT Transfers still the best deal? I have my original deed from July 2011, so expect no roadblocks. We've gotten endless enjoyment from the timeshare, but age & health issues require us to reduce travel.
Anything I should know before I proceed?
Thanks.

LT Timeshares is the best, and the only one I recommend. readylegal@gmail.com is the email for them.

Generous gift!

Not so generous--paid $300 resale in 2011. Went to Cartagena, Madiera, other fabulous vacations. He has used guest privileges on II several times & sees the value. Recently we've spent New Years week in Palm Springs with longtime friends (40 years!).

I’ll post another endorsement of LT Transfers, based on experience with multiple resorts.

LT has looked after me on three transactions. All positive.

Having a copy of your deed saves you a few dollars.

LT has done 20+ transfers for us

If you want a faster alternative. Timeshareclosingsforless.com only $100 more. Excellent service. LT can get backlogged.

Never heard of it but good to know.

Why not contact the resort and change the name on the deed? If it’s a family member should be easy to do?

{Clarification: the title/deed has to be legally transferred to the new owner - the resort can't do this for you. Vistana's roll is to accept and register the new title/deed, after it done and registered with the local county records office. DeniseM]

Truly changing the name on a deed requires a new deed to be drawn and recorded. Are there resorts that hand out forms for this?

LT is doing an SDO title transfer for me right now. The resort cannot transfer a deed/title for you: The deed/title has to be re-written in the new owners name in correct legal format, and it has to be registered with the local county records office and the resort.
