Getting around cancun taxi service at airport

Learned something this trip. As you are leaving the airport terminal you can get around the outragious prices charged by gray line taxi service by leaving terminal and turning left through the two stainless steels gates. Past the gates are regular in town taxi's that are 10.00 less. You can also negociate the rates!

Yes.... if you go to the arrivals exit of the domestic flights which is in the same terminal but, at another location you can get a normal taxi to downtown or where ever... I came in from Mexico City once with no previous arrangements and simply took a taxi to my resort.

FROM the Islander to the airport it's around $20-25, so I'd assume the same in the other direction if Dennis's trick works. Just make your agreement with the driver before getting in the cab. It'll be about the same to hop on one of the van services.
