Here's another Gas freebee. I'm looking for feedback from any Tuggers that have done Gas Up America. We went to a sales promotion for a company called "1 World Travel" for Sun City residents all over the USA. An enticement to get you there is a $50 bill and $100 free gas. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to attend??? The pitch lasts 60-90 minutes and they are selling discounted travel programs. We just took the freebees. The $100 free gas has strings attached, but I believe it's doable. The promotion guy gives you a form to fill out and send to Gas Up Ameica and they send you 5 $20 coupons. You buy $20 (exactly $20) of gas a month from any 1 of 5 brand names authorized and get a receipt for the gas. You send Gas Up America 1 coupon and the receipt within 7 days and they send you $20. You are only allowed one coupon a month. I know $20 of gas isn't much, but it's worth the effort. What say yee???

Sounds like a PITA.

Oops; edited to say that I didn't see, you were looking for folks that have already signed up. I personally would be wary, but I'm the wary sort.

I agree. It's a PITA.

Not worth the effort for me, even if it is legit. But, if you think it's worth it for you ... besides the fact that you have to go to a sales pitch to get the so-called freebie.

Anybody that wants to give you free gas should just give you a dollar denominated major gas station debit card good for the amount of free gas they are offering. Anything other than that, and they aren't really offering free gas, IMO.

Can be very tricky

50 or 100 dollars of gas was our reward for a timeshare presentation several years ago. My wife was upset that we had to send it the coupons every month but she said she was going to do it and do it right...which included sending the coupons in in the correct order...of course to mess you up they were printed backwards in the booklet so if you accidently sent the top one in it was really number 5 and voided the deal. It was a pain she got her revenge by doing it properly and we got all the money owed us.

It wasn't Gas Up America, but the other day when Jack in the Box offered two free tacos for showing a same-day gas receipt, I got two free tacos!

I might do the Gas Up America if the presentation was local.
