Garage Door Security

There are several videos that show how to prevent this sort of break-in. I like the reply to one of the videos: "I weld my garage door shut when I leave and cut it open when I return." :hysterical:

Getting ready to leave town for a week, so naturally I totally freaked out when I saw this. I just went out to my garage door to check it out, and what do you know? The design of my garage door has the latch thing embedded up inside a protective cover, so this breakin method wouldn't work. A criminal will have to resort to putting a rock through a window instead. And then he'll have to deal with my alarm system that calls the police when I'm not home, and my extra-nosy neighbors who own guns... I'm good to go. :)

I am always glad to see different ways of defending yourself and your home. While watching the video that you linked to, I saw a couple of videos by IT Stactical about getting out of zip ties. Being restrained is one of my personal nightmares. I am ready to go practice.

We don't have windows in our garages. Never do. I don't think it is anyone else's business whether we have cars inside or are home, etc. That should make it harder for these kinds of burglars.

No windows and if leaving on vacation I have a steel rod which fits through the center of one of the hinges and an opening in the track.
