Has anyone ever flown on Sun Country out of St Louis or elsewhere? They have a great non stop price out of St. Louis to Cancun. Time is getting near and all other carriers are outrageous this year. Looking for feedback. Thanks.:ponder:

They are a charter carrier. Truly a bus with wings. Expect tight seating and little to no amenities- not that the big airlines offer much today. We took them to Mexico some years ago and would do it again if the price and schedule worked for us.

A friend of ours was booked on Sun Country out of Ft. Myers, FL to fly back home to Michigan. Sun cancelled her flight because of trouble with airplane and wouldn't do a thing for her - no refund, no help in rescheduling, no hotel voucher. She ended up booking thru another airline at a much higher price for her return flight the next day. She doesn't hesitate to tell people how much she dislikes this airline!

We've always had just the opposit experience with Sun Country flying out of Minneapolis. This is their home base though, so that may help. More room between seat rows, free meals, easy boarding. These have always been scheduled flights though, not a charter. They do have problems when equipment is pulled. No back up planes to press into service, we've been lucky with that. We're in Cancun now and flew non-stop on Delta, which was less than Sun Country this year and was a very nice flight.

Sun has no monopoly on that. We were delayed 24 hours by USwear in SLC due to some unknown mechanical kerfuffle. We flew the same tail number on to Mazatlan the next day. They vouchered our room and a couple of meals. I'd have rather had a day on the beach.

I'll soon found out how I like them. I purchased 2 tickets out of ST. Louis plus their travel insurance, which I normally wouldn't do, and saved $740.00 over the only non-stop out of Indy. I figure that amount is worth giving them a try!

When we lived in Topeka, KS (flying our of KC) we generally used FunJet to book flights on Sun Country when going to Puerto Vallarta or Cancun because they were significantly cheaper than all the other airlines. We never had a problem.

We took our first flight on Sun Country to Cancun back in 1988. Since then, we have used them many times. Have always received great service, never any problems. We fly out of Minneapolis, which is where Sun Country is based, which may ba a factor.

We will continue to use them in the future.
