Just an FYI - perhaps some of you have experienced this

We are at Shadow Ridge for 9 nights in full 2 bedroom villa -- combined an owner week with 2 additional nights from my 800 DP enrollment bonus.

Owner Services called and said we were getting a full clean for free. Nice gesture. Do not know if they routinely do this for stays over 7 nights. We own 2 Plat weeks here at SR, another Plat week elsewhere, our guests are also Plat owners here and I am Marriott Platinum - not sure if that had any effect on the gesture.

I would think at the end of one owner week your unit would always get a cleaning?

At any rate, you had 2 distinct reservations and that would qualify you for a clean. And DC points reservations are interesting. We had two consecutive nights using the DC points, that were originally reserved as 2 separate one night reservations. The resort had us do a check-in, check-out after the first night. We thought that was odd, but the desk told us they had to do it that way.

We were at St. Kitts for 10 days in Feb. Used our own week and 3 days on DC points. We got a full cleaning included. I was told that you always get a full cleaning if you stay more than 7 days

I am currently at Grand Ocean for twelve days on points. They said their policy was to do full clean if reservation is fourteen days or longer. It must vary by resort.

We're also at Shadow Ridge--for 8 nights. Last Friday was on DC points and Saturday began our owner week. Saturday morning the housekeeper showed up and asked if we wanted housekeeping. I declined since I had barely unpacked from the day before.

Haven't seen her since.

man, that sucks!

Maintenance fees will have to go up with the new DC plan because with limited stays, full cleans will happen more often.

In the old model, the maids were basically missing mon-thursday (only working fri, sat, sun). Obviously some maids were kept on staff during the week, but they probably brought in temporary help for the weekends.

Now, with 3days stays, 5day stays, etc, you'll need more maids during the week to accommodate DC members and EVERYONES maintenance fees will suffer for it.

I knew that somehow this new plan was going to cost me money....

call the resort and ask for a manager.
Once I stayed for 10 days (9 nights) and when I extended my stay by calling Marriott owner services, I asked them to wave housekeeping because I didn't need it for extra 2 nights. Marriott rep put a note on my reservation and no one visited my unit until I checked out on 10th day.

The OPs scenario has been reported before. After a 7 night owner stay the room is entitled to a full clean. This is part of the MFs we all pay for a 7 night stay. For a DC stay, the skim and annual fee is/was supposed to cover additional housekeeping and maintenance costs. Not sure if that is happening.

I spoke to someone about this at the resort before I stayed at Cypress Harbour for 10 days and what the resort itself did was combine the reservation into one before I arrived. By doing that then I did not have to check out and then check back in. The key here is that everything has to match up (which is no issue at Cypress Harbour) in terms of view and size.

Figured it out -- yes, it had to do with the 2 reservations.

The first one was for 2 nights and ended on Friday. They wanted to clean then (end of reservation 1) but I asked them to clean on Monday -- middle of the entire stay. No problem.

It was nice getting fresh towels and linens without doing laundry.
