Anyone been there recently? Thinking of not renting a car. Any places nearby to eat? Any bus trips or trolley to Galeria, Swap Meet, South Beach or Sawgrass Mall? Any car rental agency nearby if we change our mind. Tips on resort? Thanks!

We have not stayed at this resort, however the resort is on a major street of Fort Lauderdale. There are many restaurants you can walk to and you are on the bus line. Plus, you are right across from the beach.

Suggestion only go to TUG Review and to TripAdvisor to ascertain more information on this resort and the area surrounding this resort.

Good luck.

We stayed in Lauderdale-by-the Sea a couple years ago, and I considered the Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, so I did some research around the immediate neighborhood. Our trip was mostly rained out, so I didn't get to do everything I wanted.

I haven't been to Primanti Brothers for pizza or sandwiches, but its a classic in Pittsburgh, and its a 5 minute walk from your resort. https://restaurants.primantibros.com/fl/fort-lauderdale/901-north-fort-lauderdale-beach-blvd.

The bus service looks very good. Four miles north of you is the town of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, and it is a straight shot on the bus. There are lots of restaurants next to the beach. https://www.discoverlbts.com/

If you want to go on an Everglades boat tour, there are tour vans that will pick you up at your hotel.

I own at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. We always bring our car, but there are people who stay there and make do without a car. You can walk to the Galleria Mall and across from the mall is a Publix Store. There are a lot of restaurants in the area.

The city bus runs along Sunrise Blvd and Uber is another way of getting around.

We have stayed there and own at Coconut Bay, one block away. It is very convenient. As others have said, it is about 15 minute walk to Publix and Galleria Mall. One block to the beach. Many restaurants nearby. Actually too many to list. Frequent bus service on A1A which runs along the beach. There is also a service called Circuit. Once you have the App, they pick you up and drop you off within Fort Lauderdale for minimal fee. The water taxi is nearby on the intercostal. There is a car rental company within walking distance. The one bedroom units are good but I would avoid the studio units. The building needs some renovation and the pool area is not really nice. Having stayed at both, I suggest you also look at Coconut Bay
