I know many TUGGERs hate Frontier, but they are a presence at our local airport, with many non-stops to Florida. I have taken them a couple of times before with no problem, but hate their nickel-and-diming.
I got an email yesterday from The Points Guy that advised me that Frontier is now matching status from 45 other airlines and hotels.
I now have a Southwest Companion pass, earned through 12/31/23 from their credit card offer last year. I will not be eligible for the pass after 12/31, but my husband did take advantage of the free companion flight 4 times this year.
Frontier is matching the Companion Pass status to their 100K elite status, for a fee of $149.
I had had Southwest flights booked for Jan. 13-20th to Orlando, at a cost of $319 r/t each.
I just booked on Frontier, the Stretch Seats in the 2nd row, for $44 r/t each, or $175 for all 4 of us.
The status is good through 12/31/24.
I will be looking to use it as often as I can, if I can fly to FL cheaper than taking the train into NY city!
