Time, that relentless hunter, marches on. It likely won't be long now before they are all gone and their contributions need to be remembered throughout all time. The article here was written last year in observance of the 75th anniversary of D-Day. From another time where troubles seemed to engulf the world, perhaps their actions can be an inspiration one more time.

If ever in Roanoke/Lynchburg area of Virginia, I highly recommend making a stop to visit the National D-Day Memorial. It is in the town of Bedford. Make sure to take the tour. It is guided by veterans and truly the best tour ever. It is very moving and so heartbreaking of the sacrifice they gave for our country.

My father-in-law will be 101 in September. He is a Canadian Army Normandy vet, although not a D-Day vet. His unit landed about a month after D-Day. His generation is now almost gone. Lest we forget.
