I do not want to minimize the severity of the virus but trying to look at what good can occur because of it.

My thoughts
-reduce dependence on China and other countries for the drugs and medical products

-medical system better prepared

-realize how precious life is and not to take it or others for granted as life can change in a moment

-realize quality time with your children is precious, with children being home more activities with your children can become a base for future family activities.

-kindness and helping neighbors, I see that happening already.

As long as manufacturing is cheaper in China I do not think that will actually happen.

My lemonade is hopefully the world will realize the real threat to us is biological and prepare for the next one. We have much more to fear from virus' and resistant bacteria than from a terrorist.

I was looking at the stats on deaths and diagnosed cases worldwide. Germany is doing extensive testing compared to the USA. Their death rate is 0.2% which is closer to the flu's death rate. I would not be surprised if when this is over that we discover we over-reacted and this is more like a flu. Hopefully, this will be good news. Maybe something good will come out of this for the future.

I think/hope/pray we'll realize the value of teachers and child care workers and those that work in grocery stores and as janitorial staff, and, hopefully, we'll start paying them what they are worth. Same for those who work in nonprofits and are trying to make sure that people are still able to get food, shelter, and basic medical care.

A girl I went to HS with just lost her husband. Young guy in his 40’s. I read an article where a mother died without knowing her two adult children died before her in NJ. Two other adult children in critical condition still. So many have this, it’s been around but people thought “they had more time” it’s all going to hit at once and the healthcare system will be overloaded. It’s 12:11 am and I’m about to leave the house to throw garbage. I’ll check on my car since I took it out of the garage Incase we go into lockdown and they close the 24 hour garage, I’ll have access to my car. It’s a very nerve wracking time. Please urge your mother to not go out for anything she doesn’t need to leave the house for. She will be fine as long as she has people get her stuff and leave it outside the apartment door

Health care workers should move up the demand line for hazardous pay for placing their lives on lines everyday and now with this Coronavirus they are our first medical Contact. IMHO.

My grandkids are having a blast playing board games and spending time with their daddy, who is not going into the office right now. He works at the Air Force Academy as an engineer. They love having him home. He still has to work from home, but he makes time for the kids. Our daughter is crazy busy at this time with her job in the travel industry. People are angry and want refunds. She has to work with both sides to find solutions for immediate travel plans. I feel for her.

Hopefully offering full refunds as no one should be traveling now. Disappointing but I am sure the people who are not traveling need the money to live.

Many of us were forced to learn how to work remotely from home. It's a good skill to know but people like me who don't like the tech stuff, had found ways to avoid it until now.

Also, I think it may ultimately show companies that people working remotely are still productive and not sitting on the couch watching TV, as many companies would seem to think.

I do too. It's a real shame that, at times like this, people are taking their frustrations out on the wrong parties. It's not your daughter's fault that all this is happening nor is she the one cancelling flights or closing borders.
